Size Guide

Jewellery should fit like it was made for you — comfortable, stylish, and intentional. Choosing the right size isn’t just about looks; it’s about healing well, feeling good, and wearing your piercings with confidence.

This guide will help you understand piercing sizes so you can find your perfect fit.

Understanding Jewellery Sizing

Piercing jewellery comes down to three things: gauge (thickness), length, and diameter.

1. Gauge (Thickness)

Gauge (G) refers to the thickness of your jewellery.

👉 The lower the number, the thicker the jewellery.

Common gauges:

  • 18G – 16G: Ears, nostrils, lips, brows.
  • 16G: Most cartilage piercings (helix, conch, tragus, rook, daith).
  • 14G: Navel, nipple, tongue, industrial.
  • 12G+: Larger gauge piercings (nipple, stretched lobes).

At The Pierced Edit, we offer a wide range of gauges because one size never fits all.

2. Length & Diameter

  • Flatbacks: Measured from the inside of the base to where the post ends (excluding the ball or gem).
  • Rings: Measured by the inside diameter across the circle.

Recommended Sizes (for healed piercings)

Everybody is different, and sizing can vary based on anatomy and piercer. Use this chart as a general guide, but if in doubt, get measured by a professional.

  • Flatbacks – Sleek and comfortable for cartilage and labret piercings.
  • Clickers – Easy hinged closure, versatile for septum, daith, helix, lobes.
  • Curved Barbells – Great for navels, eyebrows, and rooks.
  • Straight Barbells – Tongue, nipple, and industrials.
  • Horseshoes – Circular, flexible style for septum, lip, cartilage.
  • Tops & Posts – Mix and match designs.
